Mountain Bike Marathon Championships

Race Information

On 26th September, the MBCC will host the 2010 XC Marathon Champs in Ballyhouras Mountain Park, Cork. The Ballyhouras has 90km of man-made single track built and managed by coillte It also has 100s of kilometers of fireroad and natural single and double track to test the metel of the most experienced of riders and we'll be using the best of it!

Marathon Course

The course is approximately 60km long taking in the best of what the Ballyhouras has to offer. Expect to pushed to your limits on the climbs and also on the descents. Choose your bike wisely, this is no simple sunday spin, food, water and repair tools will be essential to get you home. Marshals will be on the course at key spots to keep you ontrack. Course Info

There will be 2 bottle drops areas and 1 food/water station on the course.
The Food/Water station is located at 33k an will have water, bananas, oranges and jellies to help refuel you. You can also use this a bottle drop location, if you prefer your own brew. This area can also act as a service area. A minimal set of tools will be available to facilitate repairs.
The bottle drops are located at 18k and 45k. Boxes will be provided near the registration tent where you can leave water bottles that our marshals will transport to the drop areas. The boxes will be clearly identified for 18k, 33k and 45k.

In addition to UCI points, Trophies and the glory of winning Vans have kindly sponsored prizes for all category winners.
All race entrants (full and fun mini) will be entered into a draw for a selection of prizes. Up for grabs along with lots of other goodies is a voucher for a personal coaching session with the legendary Niall Davis from biking.ie

Parking

UPDATED
Parking on the day will not now be in the Coillte car park. We will be using a nearby field for all race participants. The field is approx 10min walk from the trail centre. Directions are available here. Signs and marshals will be in place on the day to direct you to the car park. Please be patient and courteous to the marshals, Thank you.

Sign-On

Please use the online sign on facility provided.
Sign on for the full marathon will be available on the day up until 10:30.
Entry fees for senior races is €20
Cycling Ireland licences are Required. Day licences will be available on the day (€20).
